    METAPHOR MAPPING IN INDONESIAN POLITICAL INTERNET MEMES

    In this global social media era, it is very easy for people to share their ideas through internet. One of them is by making internet meme. Internet meme becomes new culture of sharingopinions easily in the worldwide networking. When people find it hard to convey theirideas and meaning through lexical words, they will use metaphor to help them explain theirintention. Metaphor has set of mapping between the source domain and target domain inthe process of making. This article will reveal the common issue talked by Indonesiannetizens especially about their political matters from two Facebook accounts: Meme PolitikIndonesia and Humor Politik Indonesia. It has been found that in these two accounts,people make memes mostly about the most recent issue around them: in this case it is aboutJakarta Governor’s election and general politic issues. The use of metaphors mapping asvehicle to share ideas shows that netizens of these two Facebook accounts mostly see POLITIC AS MOVEMENT and POLITIC AS BUSINESS

    THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ENGLISH IN-SERVICE TRAINING FOR TEACHERS IN IMMERSION SCHOOL THE CASE AT DANIEL CREATIVE SEMARANG KINDERGARTEN

    One of the biggest problems of immersion school is to obtain proficient target language teachers. The backgrounds of immersion-school teachers are very divergent. The school needs to find solutions to create the expected target language proficient teachers. Daniel Creative Semarang (DCS) has faced the same problem for years. To solve the problem, the school created English in-service training for the teacher with concern on teachers' English proficiency. The purpose of this research is to observe how English In-Service training in Daniel Creative Semarang Kindergarten works and how effective the program is. The data were collected from DCS' Kindergarten teachers and was analyzed using a pre-experience mixed method. The result shows that the training has made significant change to the kindergarten teachers' English proficiency: to the B1 level according to CEFR. However, there are still groups that need more encouragement and need further treatment to make significant progress. This study gave implication that the training has made significant changes to teacher’s English proficiency and they want it to continue with enhancement. Salah satu masalah terbesar yang dihadapi oleh sekolah imersi adalah mendapatkan guru yang cakap berbahasa target. Faktanya, latar belakang guru sekolah imersi sangatlah beragam. Sekolah perlu memikirkan cara untuk membuat para guru memiliki level kecakapan berbahasa sesuai yang diharapkan. Sekolah imersi Daniel Creative Semarang (DCS) menghadapi kendala yang sama. Untuk mengatasinya, mereka membuat program English in-service training yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan level kecakapan berbahasa Inggris para guru. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana jalannya program ini dan seberapa efektif program ini terhadap level kecakapan berbahasa Inggris para guru. Data diambil dari para guru TK di DCS dan dianalisa dengan menggunakan metode kombinasi pra-eksperimental. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa training ini berhasil menunjukkan perubahan signifikan pada level kecakapan guru TK menjadi level B1 menurut CEFR sesuai yang diharapkan pihak sekolah. Meskipun demikian, didapati kelompok guru yang mengalami stagnasi level sehingga diperlukan motivasi dan perbaikan untuk hasil yang lebih signifikan. Secara umum, program ini secara signifikan mengubah level kecakapan berbahasa Inggris para guru dan mereka menginginkan kelanjutan program ini dengan beberapa perbaikan

    The purpose of this research is to find out the difference of student's ability in writing Japanese essays (sakubun) after implementing cooperative learning type Jigsaw. The research is conducted using weak experimental type one group pre test post test design. The object of this research is 20 semester five students as the respondents. The sample is taken by using simple random sampling technique. Data collection was performed by giving test. The given test was writing Japanese essays (sakubun) with the topic “music”. The writer applies two tests, they are pre test and post test. Pre test is given before the students are taught by implementing Methods Jigsaw, and post test is given after the students are taught with Methods Jigsaw. This research is processed using statistical tests (T-test) to know whether Ha is accepted or not. Based on the data analysis, the average value of the pre-test was 66,5 while the average value post-test was 79,95. This means the result of increased student essay.s Besides that, most students agree that this method is effectively helping to write Japanese essays (sakubun) easily. The result of this research is that there is a significant impact of using Method Jigsaw in learning of Japanese essays (sakubun) on the semester five students of Japanese Education Department Education Riau University

    Pendampingan Pemanfaatan Media Literaci.id Guna Meningkatkan Aksesibilitas Pengetahuan Literasi Keuangan di SD IT LHI Banguntapan

    Salah satu literasi yang merupakan emerging skills di abad 21 adalah literasi keuangan. Akan tetapi, tingkat literasi Indonesia terendah (38,03%) di banding negara ASEAN lain. Hal ini dikarenakan rendahnya pembelajaran literasi keuangan.  Oleh karena itu, kegiatan PKM ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk:  1) Memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mengenai konsep dan penerapan literasi keuangan bagi guru dan orang tua SD IT LHI Banguntapan sebagai bekal pembelajaran literasi keuangan bagi peserta didik; 2) Mendiseminasikan media edukasi literasi keuangan “literaci.id” yang merupakan produk edukasi tim pengabdi; 3) Memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan penggunaan aplikasi mobile edukasi literasi keuangan “literaci.id”. Kegiatan PKM ini dilaksanakan secara luring di Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta dengan 40 peserta. Hasil dari kegiatan PKM ini yaitu: 1) Peserta memperoleh pengetahuan dan wawasan mengenai konsep dan penerapan literasi keuangan sebagai bekal pembelajaran literasi keuangan bagi peserta didik; 2) Produk riset tim pengabdi berupa media edukasi literasi keuangan “literaci.id” diketahui oleh peserta untuk dijadikan referensi media pembelajaran literasi keuangan; 3) Peserta memperoleh pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam penggunaan media pembelajaran literasi keuangan Literaci.id dengan benar
